Las Vegas November 2002

We decided to all go back to Las Vegas for a short weekend. This time we stayed at the Flamingo. This trip started out bad. We booked our airfare on an airline that went out of business the week before our trip. We almost cancelled the whole thing. We scrambled around and I was able to find four seats on an American Airlines flight out. It worked out nicely considering the circumstances.
So they actually had Pink Flamingos in the garden outside the hotel. That was unexpected. The hotel was nice but very smokey. We were on a non-smoking floor but that didn't really matter. Smoke permeated the entire hotel.

We walked around a lot like last time.
Some of the shows they have outside the hotels at night are pretty cool but you can really see a lot in the day time. Here's J with the MGM lion behind him.
Inside one of the casinos they had a giant slot machine. I think it was $3 a pull but I thought it was cool. So, we took our chance. As you can see, we didn't win.
We didn't go see the show but we did see the white tiger that is in Sigfried and Roy's show.
After a long day of walking around, one of us (and I won't say who) didn't want to get up.

One thing we did this time that we hadn't done in the past was book a show. We went to the Bellagio and saw 'O'. It was mostly an acrobatic show where they used water for some of the stunts. But this wasn't like the acrobats you see at the circus. These people were amazing. The whole show was very cool. We had heard a lot of good things about this show and it didn't disappoint.

One of the other things we did was have dinner at Emeril's. It was a pre-fixe menu with wine flights and everything. It was really good. That was a fun evening.

As I said, it was a short trip so there wasn't really time for much else. We hopped our plane and headed back to reality.
